Once I've mentioned that I am planning on biking across the country, the most common line is: "WHAT? ARE YOU CRAZY?!
Aneta Brodski is here. I am looking forward to begin the trip of a lifetime with my two Israeli friends, named Shlomi Asarf and Shlomi Bitton. We plan on biking the 3,000+ miles from New York City to San Francisco, California all the way down to San Diego, California on route 1. STUNNING! It is a month (or a half more) endeavor... I know I will have to leave my job for a while. Thankfully, I found a person who would replace my position for a month.
I believe the trip will take approximately a month... hopefully up to a month and a half.
Remember: It is full of mental and physical challenges through mountains, hills, valleys, and long roads. I will ride with supplies on my bike and I will camp most nights! It would be nice if you guys could offer me a place to stay. Here is a list of states where we will stop by on our trip.
We are going to stop by:
1) New York
2) Pennsylvania
3) Ohio
4) Kentucky
5) Illinois
6) Kansas
7) Colorado
8) Utah
9) Nevada
10) California
It is going to cost a lot... but experiences should not be negotiable because we only live once, like seeing the kindness of strangers that I have never met before or have known before.
I really look forward to smelling the roses and meeting new people and feeling stronger by the hour, mile, and day with two friends of mine. I cannot wait to talk with them, share my feelings, my thoughts, and my experience with them. Not only with them, but also with you guys, who come and check on my brimming stories on this blog.
I have been researching on this trip and I will keep all documents I collect on the route on biking gear, as well as the mental and physical training in order to ride across the country. I definitely will keep you guys tuned and updated.
Right now, I am looking for a bike. I will start doing a blog on bikes that I am looking for. I definitely will need your help and support. We would appreciate it if you guys can donate money via (the link will update sometime soon) to help us along on our once-in-a-lifetime journey across the beautiful United States of America.
Thanks, and much love,
