Hello,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Chris and I met Aneta and the boys on Tuesday, 7-21-09 on Route 322 West in Bridgeport, NJ. I was traveling home and noticed the three bikers heading toward the bridge into Pennsylvania and was wondering if the Delaware River Port Authority bridge police were going to let them cross over the bridge. Since I had a large passenger van with me, I stopped and offered them a ride with their bikes over the bridge. That is when I found out that they are deaf and heading to California on this bike trip. With the aid of pen and paper and Aneta's gps I was able to understand that the next stop was at 1100 Chestnut Street. I did not want them to have to ride through Chester, Pa ( not that safe! ), and it looked like rain, so I took them all the way to 30th and Chestnut in Philadelphia, close to where they were to stay for the night. There was a lot of traffic as there was a Phillies game and I did get lost in Philadelphia trying to find Chestnut Street, but was able to stop for directions and find my way.Aneta took our picture and I hope she will post it. They were really appreciative and very nice people and I wish them good luck and good times. I admire their courage for taking this bike trip and encourage anyone near their route to California to provide them assistance if needed.
